These topics provide a solid foundation in basic Excel skills, enabling participants to create and manipulate spreadsheets, perform simple calculations, and visualize data effectively. Participants will leave the workshop with practical skills that they can apply immediately in their personal or professional contexts. Topics Covered
1. Introduction to Excel: - Overview of the Excel interface, including the ribbon, worksheets, cells, and columns/rows. - Basic navigation techniques, such as scrolling, selecting cells, and navigating between worksheets. - Understanding the different types of data that can be entered into Excel (text, numbers, dates, formulas, etc.). 2. Basic Formulas and Functions: - Introduction to Excel formulas and how to create simple calculations using arithmetic operators (+, -, *, /). - Commonly used functions such as SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, MIN, COUNT, and COUNTA. - Using relative and absolute cell references to copy formulas across multiple cells and maintain consistency. 3. Data Management and Formatting: - Techniques for entering, editing, and formatting data in Excel, including font styles, cell borders, colors, and alignment. - Sorting and filtering data to organize information and analyze datasets more effectively. - Introduction to basic data analysis tools, such as conditional formatting, data validation, and sparklines. 4.
