It is important to know how time is being spent and allocated.
2-Know that they know what to do
They must know how to do it else it is your job to show them.
Make sure you know what you want or what has to be delivered
Make sure you praise and disapprove whatever is delivered in a constructive way.
Supervising is the first step towards higher management and without the proper footing a number of failures happen, especially if no training in assertiveness and delegation is not given.
