Have you ever recruited the wrong person?
Today I am going to share some secrets of recruitment which are tried, tested and used by top recruiters worldwide.
1-The Job is Their's to Lose
Yes, assume that from the initial look at the CV if the person meets the listed criteria he or she will get the job. During the interview you need to look at mistakes they will do in terms of how they will fit in the team and can they prove they can be there in three years time.
The interviewee has to be likeable, approachable and a good team player. You can get a Ph.D qualified guy but if he is not likeable by the team he is working with he and the team are going to get stuck one way or another.
3-Involve the Team in the Selection
People working with the guy needs to have an opinion on their team mate. Candid opinions are best but the final responsibility is yours.
These interviews are of a prolonged nature and involve some members of the team or working on a small task to check out the reaction of the applicant and the team during a work simulation
5-Go for traits and facts
What are the traits (distinguished characteristics) of the applicant? Do they much the profile of top employees in the job? And above all look out for tell tale signs of hard work - good grades at school or achievement at work or voluntary works.
