1-Express yourself and understanding other's point of view
This is important. We can be assertive, reactively - if someone says anything to us or pro-actively we come up with our point of view, arguments and feelings.
2-Own what you do and don't do
Assertiveness is also about delivery or non delivery and the consequences thereof so being assertive is not a defence of not doing something but a way how to contribute.
Your feelings, point of views and opinions have to be based on facts. Do not be biased because it 'suits' you to be so.
