Some people can be A$$HOLES! How do you survive these characters during your presentation?
1-Be prepared and read their agenda
People are difficult for a reason. Some people are more difficult than others. But all of them have an agenda and an axe to hone. You need to understand it and one of the ways to do it is to pre-ask questions or distribute a question paper before the presentation with the excuse that you want to get all the facts right at the presentation - they may play ball after all.
2-Get them to talk first
Create a directed open ended discussion session (time limited) up front. The secret is to get them to talk and 'through up' their arguments upfront which you would need as you go along. usually they go for this entree.
3-Be Passionate about the Presentation
Give your 200% into the presentation to make them see that you believe in what you are talking about.
4-Don't take criticism or sarcasm emotionally
If you do it can de-rail you emotionally and you lose the plot and the whole thing spirals off the trail you would have plotted.
